Virginia defines carnal knowledge as any act of sexual intercourse, cunnilingus, fellatio, anilingus, anal intercourse, or object sexual penetration. Any person, regardless of their age, who has carnal knowledge of a child between the ages of thirteen and fifteen is guilty of a felony in Virginia punishable by up to twenty years in prison. If the accused is also a minor, and three years or more older than the victim, they are guilty of a felony punishable buy up to five years in prison, provided the victim consented to the act. If there is less than three years in age difference, and the victim has consented, the charge is a misdemeanor punishable by a $250 fine only.
